This color is about being ‘emotionally detached’. To not have any emotional attachments to your business. To in a way pretend that it isn’t ‘your’ business but just ‘a’ business. So that you can see things from a neutral, stable perspective. So you can have a look at all the ‘moving parts’, or all the ‘pieces on the chess board’, without dealing with any reactions inside yourself. Cause reactions like stress and fear tend to make you not see things very clearly. It makes you have unrealistic expectations, because you are ‘personally invested’.

When you aren’t personally invested, in terms of ‘emotionally attached’, you are better able to see things as they are. You’re better able to analyze the situation. To calculate and assess. Cause the thing is that when you have a business, you tend to have certain expectations and desires, cause you tend to want the best for your business. And you’ll actually subconsciously choose not to see certain things, because you don’t want to be disillusioned. You want to hold on to the idea that you have of your business.

In a way, running a business can’t be about emotional or feeling attachments. It needs to be like ‘math’, where you purely look at all the equations. All the factors involved and all the numbers. So that you can see what works and what doesn’t. And so that, when you see that something doesn’t work, you can change course and direction.

So you should practice taking your emotions out of your business and purely work with the physical reality of it. To be honest with yourself about the state of things, and not sugar-coat anything. Not try to make things seem better than they actually are, just because you aren’t willing or ready to let go of your business.

Sometimes tough decisions have to be made and you won’t be able to make them if you have any ‘attachments’ to your business. Especially in this changing world, you have to be able to sort of ‘think on the fly’ and be flexible and be willing to change things around. Because the world is not going to accommodate your business. Your business has to accommodate the world. And so you have to be able to let go of things and ‘think fast’ and be willing to adapt to how the world is changing. You definitely cannot have any expectations that things are going to stay the same, or have any beliefs or ideas about what works and what doesn’t. You need to be standing ‘with both feet on the ground’ and see reality with absolute clarity.

Because reality can be ruthless, especially for small business owners. You have to work extra hard to make the system work for you. And you have to be meticulous, and specific and thorough.  And so your emotions can’t get in the way cause they’ll more sabotage you and hold you back from seeing and doing what you need to do. So when you see yourself emotionally reacting to how your business is doing, take a breath and stabilize yourself and have a look at what you can physically do. Have a look at all your options and at what you could do to improve yourself. Be assertive and directive and realize that your business is not going to move or grow or pick up on it’s own. You have to make it and almost force it to happen. You have to get ‘hands on’, strong-willed and determined.

This color is showing that you have a tendency to place your trust more within feelings than within common sense. That you trust things like hope and excitement as feeling experiences, rather than looking at reality. And that you also base your decisions on these feelings rather than on reality. And at the same time there's also a 'suppression' of yourself. As though you're deliberately using the feeling energies to sort of pacify yourself and keep yourself preoccupied in your mind. To keep yourself in a 'comfortable' state. And that is hindering you quite a bit because it's like you're only seeing things on this one superficial dimension in your mind where 'everything is fine' and 'everything will work out alright' and where you in a way believe in a 'happy ending'. And so when things don't work out, you don't see it coming because you weren't really paying attention to what was actually busy happening in reality.

There is a belief that things will work themselves out and that's a belief you need to get rid of, cause it's almost like it causes you to sit and wait and let things happen, rather than going out there and making things happen. You need to realize that hope doesn't change reality. Hope it's just a feeling in your mind. Hope isn't going to do what's necessary to be done.

Hope is like this dimension in the mind that's like a box that you place yourself in, wherein you don't see anything other than 'hope'. That's why hope can do easily turn into despair and hopelessness because when reality catches up with you, it comes 'out of the blue', almost as a complete surprise. But it's more like you weren't seeing things unfold in reality as they were happening. You weren't paying attention. You were too 'comfortable'.

You need to get out of that box and start paying attention to reality. And trust yourself. Because the dimension/experience of hope is more something you go into because you don't trust yourself. So the hope is already a hopelessness as a belief within yourself that you're a victim of what happens to you. So self-trust is to know that no matter what happens, you are with you and that's all you need to figure things out and find solutions. Where hope as a living word is more your trust in yourself to be able to handle whatever happens to you.

This color has a sense of ‘depression’. Or more like a ‘not seeing the point’ and feeling discouraged and down. Like, you were trying to do something but it didn’t work out as planned and so now you feel down about it, and you kind of don’t want to do it anymore. You don’t feel the motivation and the energy for it anymore, and you kind of just want to give up.

And this is unfortunately something we learn during childhood. That polarity between ‘motivated’ and ‘energized’ and ‘unmotivated’ and ‘deflated’. Where, we will only do something when we feel the proper motivation and energy for it, and we’ll give up on things when that feeling of motivation and energy leaves us. And we’ve learned to define ‘motivation’ purely within feelings as energy. So in moments when things aren’t working out or going smoothly anymore, we suddenly don’t feel motivated anymore to go on.

So don’t be fooled by this ‘programming’. You need to realize that it’s just energy talking, and ask yourself what you really genuinely want to do. Not based on feelings but based on what’s actually best for you. Don’t allow your decisions to be based on feelings or emotions – on whether you feel motivated or not. Base your decisions on what is best and what needs to be done. On practical, physical reality.

And if your mind interjects, saying ‘I don’t feel like it’ or ‘what’s the point?’, you need to place your focus on physical reality and on what it is you’re actually busy doing and decided to do. And live the word motivation as something that you decide to live – not as something that decides for you when or how you’re going to move yourself.

This ‘loss of motivation’ is also actually based on an experience of insecurity. Insecurity about your ‘capabilities’. About whether you’re able to do it, and able to do and create what you had in mind.  You’re having doubts and insecurities of yourself and that’s what’s demotivating you. So it’s not so much a giving up of what you’re doing but more a giving up of yourself because you’re afraid that you may fail. So in a way you feel like failing and giving up to ‘protect’ yourself from failing at some point, because you don’t want to face the disappointment.

So here as well it’s a point of self-trust. That you don’t know if you can trust yourself to do what’s necessary to be done. There’s a lot of insecurity and uncertainty, because the future is a bit uncertain and you don’t quite know what’s going to happen. And so that’s bringing up a lot of insecurity within you. And you don’t quite know what to do. But that’s ok. That's what trust is at the end of the day. That, no matter what happens, you are here and you will support yourself and figure something out. That, 'you've got your back' and you can depend on yourself. That you know yourself and you know that you have the ability to come up with solutions to change a situation. So trust yourself ;)
